Hello lovelies!
I hope you’re having a lovely week and that you’re enjoying your summer. We've reached August which always makes me feel like the end of summer is suddenly a lot closer and it's not a good feeling. Here in London, it’s clear we’ve reached that hump: it’s been twenty degrees most of the week with grey skies... That and the fact that I was doing work experience this week and was therefore sat down in an office all day means that I’m now desperately in need of something that‘ll put me back in a happy summer mood! I also realised that all my good habits had completely slipped out of hand (including yoga) so this post is a little motivating boost for both you and me!
I’ve decided to share with you a mixture of yoga routines that you can access on YouTube: some of my favourite short and energetic sessions that you can incorporate into your every day summer routine whether you’re at home or away to give yourself a daily boost of energy. Youtube is amazing to start yoga as there's such a wide range of channels creating videos of any length or style and for all levels so it's easy to find a channel that you'll enjoy in the long term. My personal favourite is Yoga with Adriene as Adriene's videos are of amazing quality and her passion for yoga and teaching comes across so naturally. It therefore won't come as a surprise that I've filled most of my selection with some of my favourite videos of hers but also a few other really good ones along the way! Enjoy!
Quick ones
5 Minute Warm Up Yoga To Start Your Day by Yoga by Candace
5 minute yoga | Beginners yoga by RosalieYoga
These two routines are the perfect quick workouts to start your day with. Both set in beautiful sunny settings, they've got the perfect balance of smoothness and focus which make them the perfect 5 minute daily burst of exercise and also great warm-ups before a quick workout session in summer.
Wake-up call
Sunrise yoga - 15 min Morning Yoga Practice by Yoga with Adriene
Yoga to feel your best by Yoga with Adriene
These two videos are great first-thing-in-the-morning sessions if you want a good 15-20 minutes to yourself before starting a busy day. 'Yoga to feel your best' is more of a full body stretch so I tend to do 'Sunrise yoga' more often as it's more energetic but both are a really good start to the day.
Workout
Morning yoga - Energizing Morning Sequence by Yoga with Adriene
Yoga Morning Fresh by Yoga with Adriene
And finally, these are morning sessions again but I think they suit any moment of the day when you feel like a nice solid workout. What I mean here is that they're not proper workouts involving squats, sit-ups and the like; these stay smooth and focused but it's half an hour of muscle-strengthening, deep stretching and focus-requiring exercise that really makes you feel good. The 'Morning Fresh' session is definitely a bit calmer and more gentle but in any case, you'll definitely feel great after trying one of these videos.
I hope this post has inspired you to try one or two routines this summer and maybe even start yoga if it's not something you've done before. Yoga is not something I've been doing for a long time myself; my first time trying it was in February this year so I'm still just a beginner but I've really been enjoying it and I've noticed how great it makes me feel to take 15 minutes to do some every day which is why I really wanted to share this with you to maybe inspire you to start to! Do let me know if you try any of these, your own favourite yoga apps, classes or channels or any of your other thoughts. I'd love to hear from you!
Have a splendid week!
